Trail Safety Feedback
Thanks to everyone who submitted trail safety ideas. The responses we received were great and we’re happy to say things are moving forward with the Wellington City Council!
From the responses we received a seemingly urgent one is the management of riding and walking trails on Matairangi, as we move into cruise ship season we expect this problem to only increase so please take care on the trails.
Concise and consistent signage across all the trail areas has also been requested frequently. We’re going to work with the WCC to resolve this issue.
We’re working alongside the WCC and emergency services to reduce the response time to our trail areas, whether this is with trail distance markers, jump numbers, or the use of a platform such as what3words.
Our next ask is for anonymous incident reports, if you’ve had a major crash or incident out on the trails let us know, we’re keen to identify hotspots and see why and what links these.
