Te Tuarā Bridge

Te Tuarā trail was completed in 2024. However, the trail currently crosses a walking trail and has the potential for user conflict. We want to avoid conflict wherever possible, avoid accidents and respect the desires of other users of our open spaces.
In that light, Trails Wellington has commissioned the design of a bridge that will go over the walking track and keep mountain bikers and walkers safely separated.
We've also found a generous sponsor who wants to pay for the bridge. Some sponsors are keen to be associated with a specific trail, cause, or, in this case, structure. We're all very appreciative, as bridges can be expensive.
This bridge will be several metres long and needs a resource consent before construction can commence.
