Trail Refurbishment
Separate from the Skills Park redevelopment, Trails Wellington has budgeted financial support for two significant refurbishment projects at Mākara Peak.
The refurbishment and realignment of Magic Carpet and
The rebuilding of Peak Flow.
Trails Wellington, Mākara Peak, WCC, and Total Trail Solutions have spent a significant amount of time exploring how a rebuild of Peak Flow can be more sustainable and durable. The latest thinking includes ideas such as using a larger digger and trying newer, innovative types of materials for some of the corners that break down quickly. This project is likely to be completed in 2025.
New trails at the peak
When reading about our iconic MTB Park, you may be interested to know that the Mākara Peak Supporters have in their master plan the development of two new trails.
